Orion lies in the state of Nayarit within the Sierra Madre Occidental, the volcanic province that hosts most of Mexico’s epithermal precious metal deposits. Gold and silver occur in low-sulphidation epithermal veins, with the Animas and Del Norte structures carrying higher grades suited to underground extraction.
